Exprio ("the app", "we", "us") is designed to be private by default. This policy explains what data the app handles and how. By using Exprio you agree to this policy.
Exprio does not require an account and does not collect personal information. The products and expiry dates you add are stored only on your device. We do not run servers that store your data, and we do not sell or share your data with anyone.
Everything you create in the app — product names, brands, expiry dates, quantities, categories, locations, barcodes and your consumption history — is saved locally in a database on your device. It never leaves your device except in the cases described below, which you control.
When you scan a barcode, the app sends that barcode number to Open Food Facts, a free open product database, to retrieve the product's name, brand and image. Only the barcode number is sent. No personal information is included in this request. If you enter products manually, no lookup is made.
The app requests camera access solely to scan barcodes. The camera feed is processed on your device to read the barcode and is never recorded, stored, or transmitted.
Exprio schedules local notifications on your device to remind you before products expire. These reminders are generated locally and are not sent through any external server.
Exprio Pro is an optional subscription sold through Apple's App Store. Payments are processed by Apple; we never see your payment details. To manage subscription entitlements we use RevenueCat, which processes a randomly generated anonymous identifier and your purchase and subscription status on our behalf. This is used only to unlock Pro features and to let you restore purchases. It is not linked to your identity.
If you use the CSV export or share feature, a file containing your product list is created and shared only to the destination you select (for example Files, Mail or AirDrop). You are in full control of where that file goes.
Exprio contains no third-party advertising and no cross-app tracking. We do not build a profile of you.
Exprio is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal data from them.
Because your data lives on your device, you can delete any item at any time within the app. Deleting the app removes all locally stored data. To cancel a subscription, use your App Store settings.
